Stargate Universe (2009-2011) is a sci-fi TV series, part of the Stargate franchise. The show was created by Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper, the duo behind Stargate Atlantis. SGU follows the adventures of a multinational exploration team traveling on the Ancient spaceship Destiny many billions of light years distant from the Milky Way Galaxy. They evacuated there and are now trying to figure out a way to return to Earth, while simultaneously trying to explore and to survive in their unknown area of the universe.

Smith as Matthew Scott, Elyse Levesque as Chloe Armstrong, David Blue as Eli Wallace, Alaina Huffman as Tamara Johansen, Jamil Walker Smith as Ronald Greer and Ming-Na Wen as Camile Wray (the first openly gay character in the Stargate franchise).
