Based on the successful zombie comic book series of the same name, The Walking Dead (2010) is a TV series developed by the French-born director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Majestic). The Walking Dead tells the story of a small group of survivors living in a post-apocalyptic chaos, full of hostile zombies (walkers and biters). Robert Kirkman, the creator of the comic book, is also an executive producer and has written several episodes for the show.
