The Vampires Diaries : A Buffy/Angel rip-off ?
It seems that The Vampire Diaries writers borrowed heavily from Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel, as you can see in this interesting comparison between the two shows: The Vampire Diaries just like Buffy ? Some people even say that The Secret Circle was largely inspired by the adventures of the Halliwell sisters. But hey, nothing new under the Hollywood sun. Fringe, for example, was a total X-Files rip-off (disguised as an hommage), at least during the first three seasons. Sometimes, it’s a thin line between inspiration and copying.
