The Rebel Flesh – The Doctor, Amy Pond and Rory Williams visit an acid-mining factory. A solar storm hits the factory, turning the workers’ Doppelgängers into self-aware individuals. The Doctor must mediate between the original workers and their rebellious clones, the Gangers. This episode was notable for the first use of motion control cameras since The Mysterious Planet (season 23 of the original Doctor Who series).
The Almost People – As the conflict between the miners and their Gangers escalates, the Doctor has to deal with Amy Pond’s distrust of his Ganger, while Rory Williams tries to help Jennifer. Jennifer Lucas (played by actress Sarah Smart) was a clone created from the Flesh substance, in the image of the original Jennifer, a 22nd century Earth acid miner.
