Doctor Who TV Series 7 Story 241 The Time of the Doctor Special Christmas 2013

The Time of the Doctor (2013 Christmas special) is the 800th episode of Doctor Who, and Matt Smith‘s final appearance as the 11th Doctor. It features the first regular appearance of Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor following his brief cameo in The Day of the Doctor. The episode also features several enemies of the Doctor, including the Cybermen, Silence, Daleks, and Weeping Angels. Karen Gillan also made a surprise cameo as a hallucination of Amy Pond and a younger version of herself, rounding out Matt Smith’s era.

Orbiting a quiet planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars, among them, the Doctor. Rescuing Clara Oswald from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his companion must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe…

Actress Orla Brady plays Tasha Lem, the Mother Superious of the Papal Mainframe Church, and an old friend of the Doctor.
